Honorable Mention on the all-league SWBL team in 1961; 1st place in pole vault at SWBL track meet in 1961. BA degree from Asbury College in 1966; taught and coached for five years; law degree from Faulkner University in 1972. Appointed Ass’t. Attorney General for Alabama, 1973; elected Alabama State Senator, 1981; appointed Special Ass’t. Attorney General, 1982-86; President of Federal Bar Assoc, 1980.
