NHS Class of 1964. BS in Elementary Education from WSU, 1971; MS and PhD in Teaching, Curriculum, and Learning Environments from Harvard, 1987 and 1990. Taught at Twin Valley Schools (1968-1970) and Northridge (1970-1977). Founder, director, and teacher at the Oxford School for Young Children (1977-1986). Served in several capacities while at Harvard, including research assistant, teaching fellow, student teacher supervisor, book editor of the Harvard Educational Review. Named President of the Foxfire Fund, Inc. in 1994. Has a son, Huckleberry.
